Founded in 2009 – but drawing on over 50 years’ of experience – Howdo Research primarily provides research expertise in the food & drink sector.  However, we have considerable experience in a whole host of sectors and dedicated data capture, processing and analysis capabilities.

Having spent many years working for agencies with TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms), we were determined that, if we were to launch a company, we'd want its name to sum up what the company really stands for without having to resort to the cliché ’ it stands for good research’.

We're all about answering your questions: How do I know if my new idea has legs? How do I understand its audience?  How do I make it stand out? From the start of the product life cycle through to successful launch and ongoing measurement, we can be on hand to offer professional, cost-effective and informed guidance.

Moreover, ‘Howdo’ is our favourite greeting. Granted we're not locals - but you wouldn't call a company "Wotcha", "Ayup" or - in our local vernacular - "Grunt", would you??

Simon

Simon Cheshire, our MD, has been working in the research industry since 1993 and has held senior positions at GfK-NOP, Continental Research and, most recently, JRA Research. A hugely experienced hands-on researcher, Simon has undertaken projects of wildly differing natures for a vast array of clients but, over the last 5-6 years, has focused primarily on research in the food and drink and experiential arenas. Away from work, Simon indulges in a quiet life of sitting down and standing up in rural Bedfordshire, interspersed with the odd round of golf, the occasional game of cricket, sporadic tending of his unruly garden and an unwavering passion for Luton Town Football Club.

Philip

Philip Malivoire is a former Director at GfK NOP with 30 years' experience in market research.

Over the years, Philip has built up an enviable portfolio of experience in all types of market research projects. One expertise lies in the field of legal research, a subject you can read more about elsewhere on the site. This has seen him provide dozens of expert witness reports and give evidence in court on numerous occasions.

Away from work, aside from rejoicing in having the 'most-like-a-baddie-in-Harry-Potter' surname in the company, Philip lives on the Blackheath / Greenwich borders and enjoys cycling, vegetarian cooking, being resolutely left-handed and the various joys associated with being a Dad to children aged 20, 18 and 16.

Dan

Dan is a data analyst who joined the Market Research industry in 2001. Since 2011 he has trained and worked as a data processor, analyst, survey programmer and project manager. During that time, he has become familiar with many dedicated and generalist software packages including NEBU, SPSS, Askia and SNAP surveys. He has run projects of all sizes and levels of complexity, from simple customer satisfaction surveys to multi-part, international tracking studies. He is comfortable with a range of techniques, both in data capture and analysis. He prides himself on providing a high quality, efficient service and is always determined to stay positive and find a solution.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his two young children, trying to get them interested in both board games and Arsenal FC so his long-suffering wife can have a break from both.
